Dan Shaw | UYALALELA

UYALALELA - Dan Shaw (ft. Oriah Beats, Phresh Clique)

Don’t give up hope

Uplifting, heartfelt, bouncy and just an all-round feel-good, sing-along track

Directly translated, ‘Uyalalela (Ungalahl’ithenba)’ means ‘he is listening, don’t give up hope’ and that is exactly what the message in the song is trying to portray. Keep praying, stay pure and true to your intentions and put all your faith in our Creator.

The combination of Oriah’s (the rising 22 year old South African superstar producer, who brought us AKA & Nasty C’s certified Platinum selling record ‘Lemons (Lemonade)’) Afropop beats, Phresh Clique’s Kwaito street flavor and Dan Shaw’s deep, sultry/evocative vocals brings a completely new sonic experience to the forefront of South African music.

It is the intention of all the artists involved in this project, that the message of hope, love and humanity be infiltrated back to the people of our nation through art, like it once was in the past.

Artist info

My name is Dan. I'm a 29 y/o artist from South Africa. I sing, write, produce and fund my own music. I love African drums and creating music that connects with likeminded people.

My latest project 'UYALALELA' was in collaboration with Oriah Beats, the rising 22 year old South African superstar producer, who brought us AKA & Nasty C’s certified Platinum selling record ‘Lemons (Lemonade)’, ‘Paradise’ and many of our beloved Blaq Diamond singles & Phresh Clique, a duo from Cape Town, South Africa.

The combination of Oriah’s Afropop beats, Phresh Clique’s Kwaito street flavor and Dan Shaw’s deep, sultry/evocative vocals brings a completely new sonic experience to the forefront of South African music. This EP has everything from reminiscent oldschool Kwaito House with a twist, to cinematic Afropop with a deeper story to tell.

It is the intention of all the artists involved in this project, that the message of hope, love and humanity be infiltrated back to the people of our nation through art, like it once was in the past.
