About

Izethekeli, meaning "Visitors" in the native Ndebele language, is a dynamic musical group based in Vienna, Austria, founded in late 2017 by Zimbabwean-born artists Blessings Nqo Nkomo and Jonathan Wise. Their musical journey is a vibrant celebration of life and the African philosophy of "Ubuntu," which emphasizes our interconnectedness as human beings, captured through electrifying performances.

The band's formation expanded as they welcomed fellow countryman Roben Mlauzi, creating the core of the group. This diverse and multi-talented lineup forms the frontline of Izethekeli Band.

Izethekeli's music is a fusion of Imbube, a Southern African version of acapella, and modern English folk music, creating a unique and captivating sound that pays homage to their cultural and traditional roots, inspired by their ancestors. Their performances are not just about music; they are a showcase of enticing choreography and a testament to the idea that standing still is impossible when their music fills the air.

As musical ambassadors, Izethekeli's goal is to inspire audiences and remind them that, in the grand journey of life, we are all "Visitors" on this Earth, united by a common desire to live life to its fullest. Through their music, they invite you to join them on this extraordinary voyage of rhythm, culture, and unity.
