On the idea of legacy

'Footprints in the wet cement' - a collection of songs loosely held together by the idea of legacy: "You walked across the wet cement to show you were alive, to outlive all the souls you'd ever know" (The Winding Path)

The 12 songs on Footprints In The Wet Cement were all written over the past 1-3 years and recorded at Cream Tangerine Studios located in a small village near Montelimar in the Ardêche, France. They were all produced and recorded by Simon Widdowson, a hugely experienced and talented multi-instrumentalist who played pretty much everything except acoustic guitar (me) and congas (local musician, Simon Clochard) - Simon (Widdowson) is a fellow English refugee introduced to me by virtuoso drummer, Tommy Rizzitelli at a TV Sundaze gig in my home town of Valence (an hour up the Rhône river from Montelimar) - TV Sundaze are a successful young local rock band. Their vocalist (Corentin Roux) and guitarist (Romain Da Silva) performed on my 2024 EP 'Torn & Tangled' (also available on iPluggers) along with Tommy and Simon - again, produced by Simon at his Cream Tangerine Studios and inspiring us to work on a whole album together over the summer of 2025.
