Dawn Melanie

How Far is an up beat track, with a strong celtic folk rock energy, it has catchy yet powerful lyrics which ask how far we are away from the precipice of global change and our ability to motivate ourselves to change the world for the better, a song that will move people and make them move.

How Far features the talents of South African Musician Skippy Kubheka on the mandolin, hiving the track and very unique celtic upbeat vibe.

The Maiden and The Stones is a Celtic folk track, which follows the story of a group of beings each dreaming the life of something else . Asking the question,Is life but a dream? Or are our dreams lives in other dimensions or times? The story is cyclical, and each characters dream effects the others journey, asking whether we are experiencing a shared dream or whether we are characters in each others imagined realities? What is more real, life , or the lives we dream?

Childhood Games is the second single released off the upcoming "There and Then" album. This song takes a look at the games we play as a children, and the sometimes questionable morals they teach us. It uses these games ,and the lessons learnt through playing them, as metaphors for the things we go through in life, love, friendship and heartbreak.

Shifting perspectives

'Old Oak' by Dawn Melanie is a song about shifting perspectives. It references the mythology of Odin and how, hung from his ankle for nine days and nights he gained wisdom. It speaks also of the journey of growing up, getting your heart broken, finding you know less than your youthful arrogance presumed and growing, ultimately, into who you should be through these trials.

The stories of our lives
